I feel like I'm a terrible Mum

My 7 year old daughter almost got hit by a car. We were walking back from school with her 9 year old brother, they were on their scooters. We had stopped in the island in the middle of a busy road and she just stepped out, even though I preach road safety every single time. I screamed at her to stop and luckily she did just in time. She was a split second from getting cleaned up at 80kms an hour by a 4wd. The driver stopped and proceeded to abuse and swear at me about how I should be watching my kids and I'm a sh*t mother. When we got across I yelled at my daughter and she started crying. I consoled her and explained this is exactly why you look, and she seems OK now, but I think it's definitely given her a shake up and a lesson. But now I just can't stop feeling like a terrible mother and wondering what if she hadn't have stopped, she'd be dead.
